Over the past ten years the PowerUP! competition by the Brooklyn Library has fostered the development of a host of new businesses by Brooklynites.
Citi Foundation as the sole sponsor of PowerUP!, is committed to making Brooklyn a great place to live and work by supporting local entrepreneurship through the business plan competition by providing winners with start up capital.
This year, Check Point is slamming down and powering up! During the competition, we are busy creating business plans, working on marketing strategies, financial projections, and doing research with the Library resources.
Check Point will be more than just a geek novelty sports bar with cosplay, game nights and other events, it will be a safe and inclusive environment where people of all fandoms can interact without judgement.
We look forward to dominating this competition for tri-state area geeks to give them a place to geek out and unwind 365 days a year.
